4/17 update!

Today was a very big day for Ella and I! We were officially inducted into NHS which is the national honors society at our school. It is an elite program of scholars at our school and we were inducted today. This caused lots of chaos and joy today for the two of us! This also struck inspiration for more articles! We had to walk across the stage to receive our certificates and pose for pictures. To many this may seem exciting which it is, but for myself this only triggered lots of anxiety because I have stage fright. This made me consider how dancers feel. Most dancers don’t have stage fright as they were forced to conquer that fear as children but no matter how many times I danced and competed on huge stages I never got over the fear and the jitters running through my bones. I had this feeling as I had to walk down the stage only for 15 seconds. This struck another idea to add to my article on how stage fright can also trigger anxiety and trigger the mental health issues in dance. I am very happy that I was able to connect my real life to this story once again! It is always a great feeling to relate back to the articles to strengthen my empathy!

I find this photo to also be very funny because my school Twitter posted this photo and I am the girl in the pink dress just in the back left corner.
Mental health matters always, even when you don’t see the fear behind a persons bright smile, and that is exactly what I want to capture in out article!
