3/28 update

Image
Today we made a BIG change in our magazine! We originally had four separate articles which we were going to put into our magazine but we made the hard decision to only use the article on dances effect on mental health to narrow the vision of the article rather than having multiple different scattered articles. The reason we came to this conclusion because in the other magazine examples everyone seemed to have only one main focus of their articles so we took inspiration from this and chose to scrap the other three articles written. This is also very helpful for our background as we were able to make our magazine more visually appealing because we are now focusing on the beauty and danger of dance. We include our friends whom are dancers doing poses and make our whole magazine more clean and just overall better.  Dance for the win!  -Jocelyn Shipp

3/28 update

We’ve finished our layout of the background of the magazine and this is the update of it so far. The pinks are very youthful and pretty for our target audience and it appeals to many different crowds that could read our magazine. The look of it appears to be that like a cover girl magazine except it is more mental health focused.

Today was very good day as a fun and successful day. Me and bella are great friends outside of school aswell as in it and so we work very well together. Incase we never introduced ourselves this is me and Ella.  I am the blonde and bella is the brunette in the photos.  We have been best friends for two years so this has made our experience of working together all that much better! I can’t wait to see the finished product as we go on. We have a scheduled facetime for tomorrow which will cover off of the slides we’ve completed so far as well as editing the articles. Have a great end of spring break!

Hello from spring break! Over this spring break lots of work has been done for example we took some photos of our ballet dancer friends Olivia and London for our original portraits.  This is one of our slides from where we have Olivia and London holding dance poses. The overall scheme of our portfolio is pink in a new pop style. This is a magazine for all ages but the target audience is mostly the younger crowd and the look of it appeals to that audience. We are using canva and it has been very helpful. I myself am not very tech savvy but my partner Ella is very great with canva and we are working on each others strength, mine writing and creating, and hers putting it all together and making it beautiful. I will see you guys tomorrow for our next update where we are meeting and working on placing the pieces throughout the magazine.

3/6 update

We are finally in March and this past week has been a bumpy road. I lost my document with an article about law of attraction, luckily the rest of my articles are on physical paper. I have finished my article for the mental health aspects of dance. My partner is working on the format of the magazine on canva and is writing the article on the law of attraction and i am writing the other articles to put inside. I now have to write 3 more articles that we will include in our magazine. We are including the law of attraction, music vs mood, how dance affects peoples mood positively and negatively, and how school affects mental health of students. All of these articles are around the same idea of mental health.  The law of attraction -The law of attraction is basically manifestation and the belief of how an outlook of a situation changes it for the better. For example, if you look on your situation positively it will get better and help mental health.  Music vs Mood -Music vs m...
